CLALSIS

Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies Internal Speaker Series

The Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies Internal Speaker (CLALSIS) Series is an interdisciplinary forum for the presentation and discussion of work-in-progress research about Latin America or Latinxs conducted by the faculty, advanced graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting scholars of the University of Pennsylvania. The (CLALSIS) Series has four main objectives. First, presenters receive constructive feedback on their ongoing research from colleagues in their discipline and other fields. Second, the members of the Penn community learn about and from the eminent scholarship of colleagues and students on campus. Third, the interactions taking place in CLALSIS solidify an interdisciplinary community with interests in Latin America and Latinxs at Penn. Fourth, such interactions facilitate future collaborations in teaching and research.

We hope that our interactions in CLALSIS may lead to future collaborations in teaching or research, or simply to the solidification of an interdisciplinary community with interest in Latin America and Latinx Studies.
