Carmen Torre Pérez

Carmen Torre Pérez is a third year PhD candidate in Hispanic Studies. Before joining UPenn, she received an M. A. in Spanish from the University of Kansas and a B. A. and M. A. in English Studies from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Her research interests mix Hispanic and Latin American studies with sociology, anthropology and cultural studies. She is currently working with punk culture in Cuba, where she has done extensive field research thanks to a Tinker scholarship and two LALS field research grants.
