Andreina
 Soto is a non-resident Visiting Scholar with the Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies from Fall 2024 until December 2025.  Andreina is a PhD candidate in History at the University of California Santa Barbara and the Senior Grant Associate Director of the Caribbean Digital Scholarship Collective at Yale University. Her professional experience focuses on grant management and digital humanities programs, and she serves on the executive board of the non-profit Neogranadina. Her research specializes in the African diaspora, Caribbean and Latin American history, and the history of law. Andreina's doctoral dissertation examines how people of African descent reshaped institutions, legal practices, and imperial geographies in the Province of Venezuela between the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. Website.
