Amy Chazkel, the Bernard Hirschhorn Associate Professor of Urban Studies at Columbia University will present on her current research. Dr. Chazkel is a historian of Brazil with intersectional interests spanning crime, law and justice, policing, slavery and urban humanities. Her current work focuses on the history of the urban nighttime in Rio de Janeiro during the 19th century.
Melissa Teixeira, Assistant Professor of History, is hosting Amy Chazkel for this Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies External Speaker (CLALSES) series.
