Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies Internal Speaker Series (CLALSIS) presents:  "Aging Punks: Identity and Nostalgia in Cuba's Contemporary Underground Scene"  by Carmen Torre Perez, 6th Year Ph.D. Candidate, Romance Languages.

Carmen Torre Pérez is a Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellow in Hispanic Studies at Penn. Her research focuses on Cuban punk and crisis, and she is building a critical history of this underground music scene as a way to re-examine the country’s history of the last 30 years. She has curated the digital archive Punkcubano.net and her work is being published in the next issue of Cuban Studies
