Bios of LALS Alumni

Lissette Duran (’09)

Lissette Duran is Counsel in the Litigation Department at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. She has extensive experience conducting internal and regulatory investigations, particularly involving talent management and human resources, compliance, and supply chains.  Her practice also involves advising companies and organizations of all sizes on navigating risks relating to environment, social, and governance concerns and complex litigation and regulatory defense, representing leading companies in finance, oil and energy, government, and technology. Lissette also serves as Chief of Staff of the Paul, Weiss Center to Combat Hate, bringing impact litigation against hate-driven violence. Her pro bono practice focuses on immigration and defense of children.  Lissette was named Top Lawyer Under 40 in 2022 by the Hispanic National Bar Association and shortlisted for the Diversity & Inclusion: Future Leader award in 2023 by Chambers USA. Lissette received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009—where she was a Communications Major and Latin American and Latino Studies Minor—and her Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 2014.

 

Ernesto Rosales (’19)

Ernie grew up in Miami and graduated with a B.S. in Economics from Wharton in 2019 with concentrations in Finance, Marketing, and Management with a minor in Latin American Studies and a certificate in Portuguese. During his time at Penn, he served as a Peer Advising Fellow, head teacher for the financial literacy community project, cohort leader and on the boards of the Finance Club, Wharton Latino, and Cipactli Latinx Honor Society.

Post graduation, he joined the New York Office for Oliver Wyman where he was part of the Finance and Risk practice. At OW, he primarily served financial services clients on a range of issues such as asset / liability management, interest rate risk, capital management, and regulatory issues. 

He returned to Wharton where he graduated with his MBA in 2025, majoring in Finance, Social Governance Factors in Business and a obtaining a Certificate in Law from the Penn Carey Law School. At Wharton, he served as an admissions fellow, career fellow, teaching fellow for personal finance, Dean’s advisory council and boards of Hispanic American association, Out 4 business. 

He joined McKinsey as an Associate in the New York Office and has served a range of clients across Insurance, State and Local Government, and Travel and Leisure. He lives in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn.
