José Ortiz-Pagán created a print-media art installation during a months-long residency, using a poetic talisman as a metaphor to explore migrants' journeys. The piece imagines a future where migration reshapes how we view life and its assumptions. Working with youth from CCATE, Ortiz-Pagán led games, art workshops, and diiscussions. The installation highlights global migration's roots and celebrates cultural practices that protect the basic right to exist beyond borders. The program was made possible by a generous grant from the Sachs Program for Arts Innovation.
