In this talk, Professor Téllez will present his current research project on how 21st-century Latin American fiction engages the figure of the museum to reflect on the relevance of cultural heritage and memory in our contemporary hypermediated society. Some of the questions that the novels ask, according to Téllez, are: What are museums for in a time of information overload? What is the role of art in a world increasingly overwhelmed by the proliferation of fake news? How do narratives of the past and the future shape our understanding of social relations?
