La Casa Latina is thrilled to announce that Gigi Gonzalez, "The First Gen Mentor," will be their featured speaker at the annual Dolores Huerta Lecture. Gigi is a bestselling author, financial educator, and passionate advocate for first-generation students and young professionals of color. As a first-generation Latina herself, she brings authentic lived experience to her mission of empowering students to confidently manage their finances, build generational wealth, and navigate professional spaces.
Gigi's journey from being $50k in debt to achieving financial freedom while supporting her family resonates deeply with many of our students. With over 195,000 followers on TikTok (@thefirstgenmentor), a BA in Economics, certification in investment performance measurement, and 10+ years in financial services, she combines personal experience with professional expertise to make financial literacy accessible and culturally relevant.
