Quechua at Penn and Andean Representation invite attendees to honor the rich traditions of Aya Puncha, or commonly known as Día de los Difuntos, in a heartfelt celebration of remembrance and connection. Participants will pay tribute to deceased loved ones and share fond memories through letter writing and a memory jar that honors their lives and legacies. The celebration features traditional delights such as guaguas de pan and colada morada, along with other Peruvian/Ecuadorian foods. Andean music will also fill the space, creating an atmosphere rich in culture and celebrating Quechua/Kichwa heritage. This gathering is a time for gratitude and joy, celebrating life, love, and the connections that transcend time. This celebration not only recognizes the significance of Kichwa traditions but also enriches the broader understanding of indigenous Latine identities.
