Congratulations to Thea Riofrancos for winning the Charles Taylor Book Award

Congratulations to our former graduate student (and LALS graduate fellow!) Thea Riofrancos who has won the Charles Taylor Book award for her first book Resource Radicals: From Petro-Nationalism to Post-Extractivism in Ecuador (Duke University Press, 2020).

In case you missed it, here is an article Thea published recently in the Guardian on the topic of her next solo book, which among other topics analyzes the costs that the mining of lithium to fuel the solar energy transition has for Indigenous communities in the north of Chile and Argentina.
