Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies We thank you all for joining us in our Penn in Latin America and Caribbean's (PLAC) Third Annual Conference, "Right, Left, Right: U-Turns and Their Impact in Latin America and the Caribbean," on October 12th!
The purpose of the conference was to examine how recent political shifts in the region are leading to important changes in ideas, legislation, art, media, policy-making, and other areas. This conference showcased innovative research from Penn scholars and others from across the Americas. It was a successful opportunity for students to "present and connect with other students who are doing great work," (Brittany Keesling, MBA and MPE). It was also described as "truly amazing and inspiring," and a great opportunity to "meet so many people that want to make a difference" (Samuel Torres Landa, Research Fellow).
