Migrating Lives: Celebrating Communities through Participatory Murals

Please join us for the launch of the Migrating Lives: Celebrating Communities through Participatory Murals. 

We invite students, faculty, staff, and all community partners to participate in this participatory art initiative led by community partners Karen Community Association of Philadelphia (KCAP) and the Centro de Cultura, Arte, Trabajo and Educación (CCATE) in collaboration with Asian American Studies (ASAM) and the Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies. 

Sponsored by the Sachs Program for Arts InnovationMigrating Livesis a participatory community mural project that emphasizes the critical role of immigration in the Greater Philadelphia area, depicting and celebrating the history and culture of diverse communities. During the 2025-2026 academic year, the mural will be created in three installments at KCAP, CCATE, and the ASAM/CLALS space at Penn.
