The José Miguel Oviedo Undergraduate Student Paper Award in Latin American and Latinx Studies

The José Miguel Oviedo Undergraduate Student Paper Award is given annually to the best paper in Latin American and Latinx Studies written by an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania. The prize honors the scholarly tradition of a recognized critic of Latin American literature and Professor in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at Penn.

Submissions for the 2025 Award are due March 7, 2025.  

The submission must be a single-authored paper (or an excerpt of up to 25 pages of a more extended project) written while the student is still in an undergraduate program at Penn.
