Dr. Iliana Pagán-Teitelbaum is an Assistant Professor of Latin American Film and Spanish in the Department of Languages and Cultures at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on violence and media studies in the Andes, the Caribbean, and Brazil. She obtained a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures at Harvard University. Dr. Pagán was a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania and continues to be affiliated with the Latin American & Latino Studies Program at UPenn. As a Film Scholar at Scribe Video Center, she directed Twin Tongues: Learning English in América, a documentary on language and identity in bilingual children of immigrants. She organizes the Global Hispanic Film Festival at West Chester University every fall.
