Camila Sena da Luz is a master's student in the History of Africa, Diaspora and Indigenous Peoples graduate program at the Federal University of the RecĂ´ncavo da Bahia (UFRB - CAHL), working under the supervision of Professor Luciana da Cruz Brito. Her research focuses on racism, criminalization, religiosity and the daily lives of Black women in the post-abolition period with specific attention to crimes Black women commit in the city of Salvador and in the Bahian RecĂ´ncavo in the 20th century. While at Penn as an Abdias Nascimento Fellow of the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), she's being advised by Africana Studies Professor Keisha-Khan Y. Perry.
